The following work continue the approach I took in the previous Harmonic Studies but were not painted on top of photographs. These are the purest improvisation in terms of having little or no idea in my mind to start with and responding to the colours, marks and textures to reach a conclusion. This can be a liberating process but I am rarely happy with the results, the following are probably a good representation of this process in action. |
